We are a Garifuna family-owned and operated private island boutique resort. Our entire resort has been hand built with the skill of local Maya and Garifuna craftsman, using sustainable practices to protect the Sealife and reef around our island. We did not dredge and fill using hazardous machinery.
We cultivated our island slowly, bucket by bucket, with sand and shells from handpicked areas. We planted local fruiting trees and vegetable gardens over the course of many years to avoid disturbing the sensitive ecosystem and mangrove nursery. We began building our resort in 2011 and opened our doors in 2019 to our first official guests, a testament to our care and love for the sea.
An experience the whole family can enjoy, off-grid life on a remote island, catching and eating your dinner from the sea, with panoramic views of the Belize Barrier Reef from your Cabanas. You can snorkel the second largest barrier reef right from our pier by day and observe the night sky from our universe observatory by night.
We are open to see guests year-round. The best time to visit our island is November through August to avoid hurricane season, however we welcome guests anytime. The weather is cooler in October and filled with more overcast sporadic rainy days. It all depends on your appetite for adventure. Belize with Us!
We are located on a private island in the SOUTHEAST COAST REGION of Belize off the coast of Dangriga in the Stann Creek District.
Our closest Airport is the Dangriga Airport (DGA) which is a short 15-minute hopper flight from the Philip S.W. Goldston International Airport in Belize City (BZE). The Dangriga Airport has two airlines we only recommend one (Maya Island Air) which can be booked easily online. The Dangriga Airport is just a few minutes from the boat dock where we launch from and we pick you up at the airport.
To get to our spot, you will travel approximately *30 minutes via boat to our private Island, which is 13 miles off the Coast of Dangriga, the hub of Garifuna culture.
